FOG Design+Art: Booth 103
David Nolan Gallery is delighted to present a salon-style installation of master works on paper for its debut at FOG Design+Art, spanning from the 1950s to the present. Originally founded with a focus on works on paper, the gallery has since expanded to embrace a wide range of disciplines and media. What unites the program is not a single aesthetic or school, but rather the singularity of each artist’s vision. However, the gallery maintains a deep commitment to elevating drawing as both a medium and an essential artistic practice.
This presentation gathers artists of diverse nationalities - Guatemalan, German, Brazilian, Canadian-American, Iraqi-American, among others - whose practices extend across painting, sculpture, photography, conceptual and installation art. Yet, each artist has turned to drawing as a vital mode of expression. The presentation spans a wide spectrum: from abstraction to representation, realism to surrealism, swiftly executed sketches to intricately done compositions.
