In Interval, Hartt observes culture and built environments within specific geographic locations. He then assesses how needs and values within these settings evolve over time. For this multi-media piece, Hartt selected two locations of comparable economic and geographic isolation: Whitehorse in the Canadian Yukon and Sakhalin Island, a Russian territory near the Japanese archipelago.
David Hartt's series, Belvedere is currently on view now in the Ocean of Images: New Photography 2015 exhibition. The show continues through March 20, 2016.
