Ciprian Muresan to participate in the 2017 Venice Biennale | Guerlain Drawing Prize Nomination | David Nolan Gallery Exhibition

Ciprian Muresan has been selected to participate in VIVA ARTE VIVA, the 57th edition of the Venice Biennale exhibition, curated by Christine Macel (Chief Curator, Centre Pompidou, Paris). The exhibition will run from May 13th to November 26th 2017 in the Central Pavilion (Giardini) and in the Arsenale. Presented within the exhibition will be a selection of Muresan's densely layered graphite drawings, along with a sculpture from 2012. Explaining the concept for her project, Macel has said: "In a world full of conflicts and jolts, in which humanism is being seriously jeopardized, art is the most precious part of the human being."

Also recently announced, Muresan is among three artists to have been nominated for the 2017 Drawing Prize awarded by the Daniel and Florence Guerlain Contemporary Art Foundation. A selection of his work will be shown at the Salon du Dessin in Paris, where the prize-winner will be announced on March 23rd.

David Nolan Gallery will present Muresan's 2nd solo exhibition in New York, opening March 30th. It will include new drawings as well as a large-scale cast resin sculpture.
